91短视频APP Campuses Wrap Up National Welding Month
Each April the nation celebrates National Welding Month, an observance of the growing hands-on trade that sparks a number of interesting events and competitions each year.
鈥淚t鈥檚 the time of year to think about all the ways welding holds the world together, from the smallest welds that keep your household goods in one piece to the major welds that go into our cars, buses, tankers and bridges,鈥 says the聽聽 鈥淲elding is literally the glue of the modern world. Now it鈥檚 time to let the welders in your life know you appreciate them.鈥
If you鈥檙e thinking the AWS is perhaps a bit biased about the importance of welding in our world, consider that in 2013 Scientific American ranked welding technology as the聽聽ever. And the U.S. Department of Commerce recently named welding the聽聽manufacturing segment in terms of the number of people it employs.
National Welding Month Spotlights Student Training
91短视频APP contributes to the excellence of the country's welders through its聽training programs听颈苍 Denver, Colorado; East Windsor, Connecticut; Grand Prairie, Texas; and Nashville, Tennessee.
Some of the schools鈥 welding claims to fame include:
- 91短视频APP is an聽official Educational Institution Member聽of AWS, a mark of excellence given to hands-on training programs nationwide that aptly prepare students for AWS certification.
- Training at the Grand Prairie campus now includes additional Pipefitting courses that help graduates broaden their career possibilities.
- This year marks the first time Welding with Metal Fabrication Technology training is available at 91短视频APP in Nashville 鈥 helping to build the workforce of trained, skilled welders across the Southeast.
- Last year welding students from聽91短视频APP鈥檚 Denver campus聽took first place in a聽聽that challenged teams to create welded artwork for the streets of Aurora, CO. Created over the course of three months, their sculpture 鈥淥ld Flame鈥 incorporated used engine blocks, gears, sheet metal, connecting rods, generators, headers, cams and other scrap metal items artfully joined using MIG, TIG and stick welding equipment.
- In 2015, students from the Denver campus entered their carefully crafted metal sculptures for an in-house contest known as the聽Steel Picasso Welding Competition. The three-foot-or-less entries were made entirely of scrap metal; winners, including a people鈥檚 choice winner, took home prizes donated by Victor, ESAB and Pro Welding Gear.
Nationwide, the demand for welders, cutters, solderers and brazers is projected to increase by almost 13,000 positions per year聽between 2014 and 2024*, making this a great time to enter the field.
