Industrial Workers of the World Day: Be a Part of the Celebration
Today we celebrate Industrial Workers of the World Day, acknowledging and honoring those who make a living working with their hands in jobs ranging from welding to CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining. It’s thanks to these hardworking skilled laborers that industrial work is still alive and operating today.
Industrial fields include some of the fastest-growing jobs in the country today: by 2024 nearly 450,000 workers are projected to be hired in the welding, HVAC, electrical/electronics, and computerized manufacturing fields nationwide.* These are rewarding, exciting careers that can’t be outsourced, and offer opportunities to both men and women looking to advance their own professional standings.
At 91¶ÌÊÓƵAPP, our goal is to help grow the next generation of industrial workers and ensure the industry continues to thrive for years down the road. There’s a skills gap that exists in many of these industries today - many employers are facing a shortage of skilled workers, and while this is bad news for the industry, it’s good news for young students looking to jump start their careers. There are plenty of entry-level opportunities available today and with proper training, anyone who prefers working with their hands to sitting in a cubicle all day can learn the skills needed to succeed in the real world.
91¶ÌÊÓƵAPP got its start training workers to enter the HVAC industry in 1946 – today we’re proud to support a wide range of industries around the country by providing skills, trained candidates for open positions that require specific hands-on abilities. Become a part of the industrial workforce by building skills through hands-on training at a campus near you. American industries need skilled workers, and with the right skills you can become an in-demand candidate for these available jobs!
